Changing Seasons...

I can't believe it is just about time to pack up and head home. Four months is almost up. The seasons come and go, watching summer temps rise and the snow melt off the tops of the mountains as the colors change to green and the flowers come out in all their color and beauty. I just love watching the season pass and enjoy them for how God has created them. Fall is here and there is beautiful reds and yellows all around, turning quick with the frosty mornings we have had. No termination dust on the close mountain tops yet, but when you step outside on a clear morning you can feel the crispness of winter and smell the snow in the air, winter is just around the corner and that means I am going to be home soon.

Home has been a different place in the different seasons these past 2 1/2 years. Here the lodge has been my summer home and during the fall, winter and spring I made my home in Cannon Beach, OR at tenting Ecola Bible School. Now I get to go back to the place that has been home for the majority of my 20 years of life. I get to be with my family; dad, mom and my three brothers. I am just ecstatic to be going back and spending time with them. Getting reconnected with my church and friends that are still around. This is the moment I have been longing for and it is only a month away, a month that will fly by if I blink and then I will be gone. So I must remember to enjoy this place of home at Rainy Pass Lodge, soak up being in the middle of God's creation and just enjoy watching the season change. Enjoy being curled up next to a fire, reading a good book because before I know it I will be back where cars are my transportation and I will be busy and in the hustle and bustle of life with everyone else.
